Introducing Adyen terminals
Working closely with some of our largest customers, we designed two devices that would seamlessly fit into their payments journeys. Their brief to us was simple: terminals that support mobile customer journeys, at an affordable cost, with a powerful battery.
AMS1
The AMS1 is an all-in-one Android terminal; lightweight, mobile, with a long-lasting battery. Additionally, it features a touch screen on which businesses can both operate their preferred apps, and accept payments from a single device.
NYC1
The NYC1 is a card reader created for businesses who want to meet their customers wherever they are: inside, outside, on-the-move. Its built-in magnet will automatically attach to whatever handheld device is preferred; it has a battery that will last two full business days, and is as small and light as they come. Note: The NYC1 is only available in the US and does not yet support PIN.
With growing demand from platforms, marketplaces and enterprises for mobile terminals that work neatly with existing tech stacks, the NYC1 and AMS1 are fit for purpose. They will service businesses who want portable solutions to in-person payments, and don’t want their staff weighed down by heavy hardware. The terminals will launch initially for Adyen customers in North America and EMEA, before a global launch in 2023.
All available Adyen terminals are PTS POI compliant as per PCI security standards.
