PAN retry logic now supports external tokens
For payments using external network tokens, declined transactions can now automatically retry using the underlying PAN. This unlocks more successful transactions and reduces failed payments.

By retrying with PAN, external tokens now achieve higher authorization rates, helping your shoppers complete purchases more reliably.
How to benefit from this feature
All customers using external tokens on the Checkout API have this capability enabled by default. No additional setup is required, but you can consult your Adyen contact for tips to maximize success rates.
