Joop Wijn joins Adyen as Chief Strategy and Risk Officer

Adyen is pleased to announce that Joop Wijn will be appointed to Adyen’s management board.

He will take on the role of Chief Strategy and Risk officer. The appointment is still subject to regulatory approval by the Dutch Central Bank.

“The experience that Joop Wijn brings on board is invaluable and will further facilitate our global expansion,” says Adyen CEO Pieter van der Does.

Previously, Joop Wijn was a member of ABN Amro’s management board, responsible for Corporate Banking.

Joop Wijn joined ABN AMRO as Investment Manager Private Equity in 1994. In 1998, he was elected as a Member of Parliament and in 2002 was appointed Minister for Foreign Trade after which he became State Secretary of Finance. In 2006, he was appointed Cabinet Minister of Economic Affairs. From 2007 until 2009, Joop Wijn was Senior Executive Vice President at Rabobank for SME and agricultural clients.
