Adyen, the global financial technology platform of choice for leading businesses, today announced its selection by JINS HOLDINGS Inc., operator of Japan’s iconic eyewear brand JINS, to power its omni-channel payment infrastructure. Following an initial launch at the flagship Kichijoji store in late September, JINS will roll out Adyen across 150 retail locations in Japan starting November 2026.

Through this partnership, JINS is transforming its in-store purchasing experience by reducing checkout friction, unifying offline and online sales data, and building a scalable global payment infrastructure to support its international expansion.

Pioneering Seamless Shopping: Modernizing the In-Store Experience

As a leader in the Japanese eyewear market, JINS operates approximately 500 stores in Japan and a growing footprint internationally. To maintain its competitive edge and elevate customer satisfaction, JINS sought a unified payment architecture capable of supporting its digital transformation strategy across online and physical retail environments.

Key pillars of the implementation include:

  • Unified Commerce Architecture: By consolidating online and in-store transactions onto Adyen’s single platform, JINS gains a unified view of its payment data. This single customer view enables operational efficiencies, deeper shopper insights, and highly personalized customer journeys.

  • Faster Checkouts via Mobility: Previously, customers had to visit a central cash register following frame selection and eye examinations. Deploying Adyen’s mobile payment solution paired with Tap to Pay on iPhone empowers store associates with individual iPhones, allowing them to complete consults, order selection, and payment anywhere on the sales floor.

  • Global Scalability: Leveraging Adyen’s global payment infrastructure allows JINS to expand into new international markets where Adyen supports the relevant payment services without needing to integrate localized payment systems in each region, accelerating time-to-market while supporting consistent global operational control.

"JINS is a true pioneer in the Japanese retail landscape, constantly redefining customer expectations through product and digital innovation. We are proud to partner with JINS on their digital transformation journey. By unifying their payments architecture and bringing mobile checkout directly to the sales floor with Tap to Pay on iPhone, JINS is setting a new benchmark for modern retail experiences while building a foundation for effortless global expansion," said Adam Brownstein, Country Manager for Japan at Adyen.
