Milan, February 24, 2026. Adyen, a global financial technology platform of choice for leading businesses, is expanding its collaboration with lastminute.com, a European leader in dynamic holiday packages, thanks to its issuing solution. Through the use of Visa-branded prepaid virtual cards, lastminute.com has optimized payouts to airlines, hotels, and other suppliers, accelerating access to funds and significantly optimizing currency exchange costs.

Navigating backend complexity

In recent years, managing payment flows to suppliers has become increasingly complex, with specific requirements on card usage. This has led to customized manual setups, impacting operational time and resources.

To address this, lastminute.com integrated Adyen Issuing into its existing technology stack. This solution allows the brand to benefit from advanced, multi-level configuration for both accounts and individual cards, while enabling the issuance of new cards in multiple currencies almost instantly.

By relying on Adyen for both pay-ins and pay-outs, lastminute.com has simplified supplier payment management, fully leveraging the capabilities of a unified payment solution and making the process faster and more efficient.

Following the rollout, completed in less than a month, funds can now be transferred directly to virtual cards, accelerating supplier payments by 2–3 days and optimizing currency exchange costs.

Finally, the time required to retrieve key information, such as available balances, has been significantly reduced compared to the past, while reconciliation times have dropped by 5%, allowing teams to work more agilely and focus resources on higher-value activities.

A unified vision for growth

This innovation in supplier payments supports lastminute.com’s broader efforts to enhance payment solutions for travelers. In 2025, the brand integrated four new payment methods with Adyen, which has helped reduce launch times by approximately 70% and lower associated costs by around 60%.

“The collaboration with lastminute.com is a concrete example of how technology can transform payment management, making business processes more agile and efficient” says Gabriele Bellezze, Country Manager Adyen Italy. “Supporting such a dynamic brand means putting innovation at the service of everyday operations, turning every operational challenge into a lever to compete and seize new opportunities in a rapidly changing sector.”
