Turning our growth into impact: matching every Giving donation through 2026

This year, we will continue to match all donations processed through Giving, so every euro or dollar donated at checkout goes twice as far.

Today, I’m excited to share a concrete step in that journey: throughout 2026, Adyen will match every donation made via Adyen Giving.

That means every euro or dollar a shopper donates at checkout this year will be matched by Adyen, effectively doubling the impact of each contribution.

What is Giving?

Giving is Adyen’s donation-at-checkout product. It allows our customers to enable donations directly within their online or in-store checkout, with zero friction added to the payment flow.

Shoppers increasingly want to support good causes through the brands they engage with. At the same time, nonprofits face a growing funding gap, and traditional donation flows are often fragmented and operationally complex for businesses to implement at scale.

Giving removes those barriers. It’s a single, streamlined integration that keeps donations separate from the payment flow, making it easy for merchants to activate their shoppers and support causes globally, without adding checkout complexity.

And importantly: through our 1% Fund, Adyen covers all scheme and interchange fees, so 100% of shopper donations go directly to nonprofit partners.

Matching is one of the strongest ways we amplify impact. When we match donations, the same euro or dollar goes twice as far, and the impact compounds beyond just the money itself.

In practice, matching increases participation. Shoppers are more likely to donate — and to donate more — when they know their contribution will be doubled. For our customers, it strengthens engagement with their own impact goals. For nonprofits, it accelerates funding in moments when it’s most needed.

In 2025 alone, Adyen matched over €10 million in customer donations through Giving. In 2026, we will again match every donation processed via Giving for the full year. This level of full-year matching at global scale is highly unusual in our industry and reflects how seriously we take our role in enabling customer-led impact.

Our donation matching is funded through Adyen’s 1% Fund. Founded in 2022, the 1% Fund directs 1% of Adyen’s annual net revenue to initiatives that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As our business grows, our potential to create impact grows alongside it. In 2025 alone, this amounted to €25 million.

But the 1% is more than a fund. It’s designed around a simple idea: to amplify impact. We don’t just think about how to spend money — we think about how our technology, our platform, our people, and our customer relationships can extend the impact far beyond the initial spend.

The 1% Fund supports a broad set of activities, including: donation matching through Giving, catalytic grants with long-term nonprofit partners, co-investments and co-grants with customers to help scale customer-led impact ambitions, and local volunteering and community-directed funding across our offices.

Together, these approaches allow us to turn Adyen’s growth into shared, scalable impact for society and the planet.

Looking ahead

Matching every donation through 2026 is both a milestone and a moment of momentum. Together with our customers, we’re pushing toward helping raise €50 million on our path to €100 million in donations by 2030.
