Strengthening our platform resilience

Following our update in April, we completed a structured assessment and have applied those learnings to further evolve our platform.
In recent months, our teams have implemented enhancements that further strengthen this foundation, building on years of investment to ensure that our infrastructure continues to scale and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment.
Engineering for resilience
Resilience starts with design. Our single-platform architecture gives us end-to-end ownership over every layer, from our data centers to our application logic, allowing us to evolve continuously as conditions change. Since April, we’ve focused on four key areas:
Multi-layered defenses: We’ve expanded protection at our platform’s edge, introducing additional global DDoS mitigation partners, such as Cloudflare, alongside existing global providers. This multi-provider model ensures that malicious traffic is filtered and absorbed before it reaches our core systems, adding redundancy and depth to our security posture.
Reinforced traffic architecture: We’ve scaled and re-architected our load-balancing layer to better segment and distribute network flows across multiple points of presence, making our platform more fault-tolerant and able to maintain performance even under extraordinary traffic conditions.
Expanded regional resilience: We’ve accelerated planned geographic distribution of key services to further strengthen availability across regions.
Proactive safeguards and readiness: We’ve introduced additional automated testing and monitoring to identify potential bottlenecks early and reinforce platform stability, and refreshed response processes and training.
Resilience beyond our walls
Resilience goes beyond technology. We continue to collaborate with leading organizations across the security ecosystem to share insights and intelligence, strengthening not only our platform, but the broader industry’s defense posture.
Looking ahead
The foundation of commerce is trust, and trust depends on certainty. Our goal is to make that certainty a constant: a platform engineered to deliver, regardless of scale, geography, or global conditions. As the environment evolves, so will we.
