Adyen, the global payments technology company, today announced a partnership with SurveyMonkey, the leading online survey platform, to kick off global payment processing, starting with Brazil. Through the partnership, more than 800,000 of SurveyMonkey’s current customers in Brazil will be able to pay in reais (R$) via Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Elo credit cards, as well as local bank transfers, a popular payment method.

The partnership, which is the first between the two companies, will aid SurveyMonkey’s global expansion by adding a substantial amount of customers to the platform.

"Within a month we were processing payments for SurveyMonkey in reais, the local currency, thanks to a fast and efficient platform integration,” said Jean Mies, Senior Vice President of Adyen LATAM. “Previously, making a purchase required an international card, but now SurveyMonkey has officially adapted to the Brazilian culture and is offering local payment options, expanding the company’s growth opportunities. Technology innovation is a core pillar of both the Adyen and SurveyMonkey businesses, so we are especially excited about this partnership and look forward to expanding into other regions.”

For SurveyMonkey’s country manager in Brazil, Rodolfo Ohl, processing in local payment methods has been a priority since last year, due to the importance Brazil plays in the company’s overall global strategy. "Brazil is our fifth largest global market, so we've been looking for a way to accept local payment methods and improve the experience for our Brazilian customers,” said Ohl. “We selected Adyen as our payments partner because of its data-driven approach, local payment expertise, and technical agility, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”

Current users of SurveyMonkey, who were already able to pay in dollars, are now able to pay in real (R$) via a range of payment methods including credit card and bank transfer. "We hope this initiative will drive an increase in customers using our surveys, and ultimately help more people make decisions based on data," concluded Ohl.

Adyen provides businesses with a single global platform to accept payments anywhere in the world. The company offers more than 250 methods in 187 different currencies.
