Payments for restaurants can feel like rocket science; discover how Atlas is making it simple. An appetite for efficiency
Born from the team's own experience running an F&B business called Grain, Atlas was founded to solve the problems they faced firsthand. They noticed that F&B SMBs were struggling with disjointed backend operations and a tangle of technologies. This direct insight was the inspiration behind creating Atlas as a solution to simplify the industry's complexities.
This fragmentation was a major issue for payments. F&B businesses had to manage sales across multiple channels, from point-of-sale (POS) and online orders to self-service kiosks and scan-to-order systems. The lack of integration meant unclean data and no single source of truth, forcing finance teams to spend hours manually reconciling numbers across endless spreadsheets. In a market like Singapore, where reducing manpower costs is critical, this disorganization was a huge drain on resources.
To deliver on its "one-stop solution" promise, Atlas required a single, unified platform. The goal was to seamlessly manage all payment touchpoints while providing the clean, accurate data essential for their merchants to run their businesses efficiently.
They needed a payment partner that could help eliminate this complexity.
"We saw a noticeable gap in the market for F&B SMBs, especially concerning disjointed backend operations and technology."

Serving up a one-stop solution
Atlas chose Adyen to power its embedded payment solution, AtlasPay. The decision was driven by the alignment between Adyen’s single platform vision, Adyen for Platforms, and Atlas’ mission to be a "one-stop solution" for F&B businesses.
Through Adyen for Platforms, Atlas created a truly integrated system, transforming payments from a backend function into a growth driver. Payments from all sales channels, including POS, scan-to-order, kiosk, and online, are now managed seamlessly within the Atlas platform. A crucial factor for Atlas' rapidly growing merchant base was the ability to onboard new businesses quickly and efficiently.
"We were bracing ourselves for technical setup and paperwork, knowing our time is super valuable. However, our onboarding was super quick and very efficient."

The unified platform provides a single source of truth with clean and accurate data, a key factor in Atlas’ ability to optimize processes for its clients. This has eliminated previous complexities like disputes and manual key-ins, drastically simplifying financial reconciliation. For sub-merchants, this integration reduces manual labor and human error, both saving time and lowering operational costs.
For sub-merchants and their customers, the partnership delivers a consistent and frictionless checkout experience across all channels. Sub-merchants value the flexibility of Adyen's hardware, like the popular AMS1 mobile terminals, which support a wide range of payment methods.
With this robust technology as a foundation, Atlas can build innovative features such as AI-driven automation. This helps them remain competitive by offering cutting-edge payment solutions.
"Payments are critical, and that's where Adyen steps in. They help us with integrations, data, and functionalities. So, that's a key part to how we've been growing and are able to serve hundreds of restaurants."
