Châteraisé Singapore Selects Adyen to Unify Payments, Empower Franchisees and Elevate Customer Service
The partnership will reduce the administrative burden on franchise owners while supporting a more consistent customer experience
Adyen, the global financial technology platform of choice for leading businesses, today announced that Châteraisé Singapore Pte. Ltd., the Singapore operating arm of Japanese confectionery company Châteraisé Co. Ltd., will adopt Adyen’s payment platform across its operations in Singapore. Franchise owners will be able to use the platform from the point of store opening, reducing operational complexity while supporting improvements in customer service.
Châteraisé operates 895 specialty confectionery stores in Japan and 163 stores across seven overseas markets. In Singapore, the company currently runs 37 stores, of which 34 are franchise-operated. Prior to adopting Adyen’s platform, each franchise owner had separate contracts with local financial institutions and payment service providers. Due to these individual arrangements, the payment methods available to customers were not standardized across franchise locations. The fragmented setup also made it difficult to maintain consistent terminal and software standards throughout the store network.
“By adopting Adyen’s solution, we have established a foundation for a standardized payment environment across all stores in Singapore while enabling the strategic use of purchase data,” said Masayuki Matsuoka, Director of Châteraisé Singapore. “As our business operates under a franchise model, Adyen’s platform removes the need for each franchisee to enter into separate contracts with financial institutions and other providers, while supporting secure and flexible payment methods. This improves both operational efficiency and service quality across our stores.”
“We are truly honored to have been selected as the payments partner for Châteraisé, one of Japan’s leading confectionery manufacturers,” said Adam Brownstein, Adyen’s Country Manager for Japan. “For a company achieving global growth through a franchise model, simplifying payment complexities is key to further expansion. With Adyen, Châteraisé can centrally monitor and manage payment data from all locations, significantly reducing the burden of reconciliation operations.”
Adyen’s Single Platform Creates Multiplier Effect for Franchise Efficiency and Customer Experience
Châteraisé Singapore first implemented Adyen’s solution at an autonomous store at Nanyang Technological University. Following a successful rollout, the partnership is now expanding across all stores in Singapore. With one API integration to Adyen, franchisees can use a unified payment platform from day one, removing the need for individual contracts with financial institutions and providers. Implementation time has been reduced from 10 days to 3 days, while Adyen’s Terminal Fleet Manager allows Châteraisé headquarters to centrally manage updates and ensure all terminals remain secure.
Standardizing payments across stores will deliver a more consistent and seamless customer experience, while enabling the business to analyze and adapt to local payment preferences. Adyen’s platform will also bring together data from in-store and telephone orders, unlocking a unified view of customer behavior. All stores will offer more meaningful interactions based on the customer’s transaction history, such as asking if they enjoyed a particular past purchase.
By harnessing Adyen’s platform, Châteraisé will transform payments from an administrative transaction into an opportunity for meaningful customer engagement, enhancing the value of the Châteraisé experience.
