Adyen Partners with TFE Hotels to Drive Global Unified Commerce and Launch Charitable Giving for UNICEF at Checkout
Through a new global partnership with Adyen, TFE Hotels consolidates its on-property, upgrade payments onto a single platform, enabling faster property setups, consistent authorisation rates, and seamless round-up charity donations at checkout.
Adyen, the global financial technology platform of choice for leading businesses, today announced a global partnership with Australian international hotel group TFE Hotels to consolidate its payment operations and power seamless checkin and checkout experiences across its global portfolio. As part of the partnership, TFE Hotels will also activate Adyen Giving across 35 participating Adina properties, allowing guests to make charity donations at the front desk on check-out to support UNICEF.
As the flagship brand of TFE Hotels, Adina Hotels represents the group's heritage, growth and ongoing evolution. What began in Australia has expanded internationally, with Adina delivering a trusted apartment hotel experience to guests in destinations across Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
Before partnering with Adyen, TFE Hotels managed a complex payment ecosystem across its global portfolio. Multiple vendor relationships made it difficult to introduce new payment methods and expand into new markets, while disconnected systems required significant manual processing.
In addition legacy platforms offered limited integration flexibility, slowing property onboarding and payment response times. The existing setup also prevented TFE Hotels from offering guests the option to make charitable donations at checkout.
By leveraging Adyen’s Unified Commerce platform under a single contract, TFE Hotels has unified its hotel accommodation, food and beverage operations, gift cards, and guest experience app and on-property check-out terminals into a single global system. The transition has delivered rapid speed to market – enabling new properties to go live in as little as 4 weeks – while maintaining a consistent authorization rate of 94%.
“Working with Adyen has allowed us to simplify our global payments ecosystem, creating a more seamless and reliable experience for both our teams and our guests,” said Katia Giurtalis, Global Marketing Officer, TFE Hotels.
“Through the integration of Adyen Giving, we’re also making it easier for guests to support UNICEF’s important work around the world, with the opportunity to contribute directly at our hotel front desks.”
Giving went live across 35 Adina properties in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland on 19 October and will be rolled out in other TFE properties in the coming months.
UNICEF operates in more than 190 countries to provide children in crisis with health, education and protection. UNICEF Australia Director of Growth & Engagement, Libby Hodgson said, “Every donation made by Adina guests through this simple process with Adyen Giving will be a meaningful contribution to child survival and wellbeing. UNICEF applauds this initiative by Adyen Giving and Adina to support children in locations where the need is greatest”.
"Hospitality brands today need the flexibility to deliver smooth, personalised guest experiences while maintaining operational efficiency behind the scenes. Our partnership with TFE Hotels demonstrates how a single platform overview of all payments unlocks business agility, higher authorisation rates, and deeper guest insights. Crucially, through Adyen Giving, we are also empowering TFE Hotels to turn everyday payment moments into meaningful corporate social responsibility actions," said Hayley Fisher, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand at Adyen.
