Adyen completes acquisitions of Talon.One and Orb

We have officially completed our acquisitions of Talon.One and Orb.

With the acquisition process officially complete, we are beginning the integration of loyalty platform Talon.One and enterprise billing platform Orb. With these two additions, we continue to expand our platform by offering multiple, integrated solutions that help our enterprise merchants unlock more opportunities for revenue optimisation.

Together, these acquisitions solve multiple needs for merchants, from connecting and activating customer interactions across channels to solving the complexities of monetisation and billing for high-growth digital companies.

Talon.One: Activating real-time customer insights

Our acquisition of Berlin-based Talon.One addresses a key customer need and builds on Adyen’s Unified Commerce strategy: to not only connect online and in-store shopper interactions, but to act on that insight in real-time. 

By combining Adyen’s global payments infrastructure and proprietary transaction data with Talon.One’s real-time decisioning capabilities, merchants can establish a consistent customer identity across channels and apply it directly in the shopper’s cart. This allows them to dynamically adjust promotions and pricing based on who the consumer is.

The acquisition expands Adyen’s role from optimizing individual payments to improving the overall economics of transactions.

Orb: The infrastructure for the next generation of billing

Enterprise billing platform Orb, headquartered in San Francisco, provides an infrastructure engine that tracks real-time usage data and translates complex pricing contracts for global enterprises. 

AI is driving a structural shift as companies move toward usage-based pricing models that require infrastructure capable of processing millions of usage events in real time. This makes billing a strategic entry point into a new generation of high-growth digital businesses, and one where both existing and prospective customers are actively asking Adyen to step in.

Connecting payments and billing creates a two-way intelligence advantage: billing signals feed into Adyen's Dynamic Identification layer, improving data models across the entire product suite, while real-time payment data and risk scores optimise billing execution, reducing fraud and increasing transaction success rates.

Looking ahead: A single infrastructure experience

To ensure product velocity, Adyen is adopting an incubator model, preserving Orb’s operational continuity during the first phase of the acquisition and continuing to support multi-PSP environments. Beyond this first phase, the strategic intent is convergence: a single infrastructure experience for merchants across billing and payments.

The additions of Talon.One and Orb bring exceptional talent and modular technology to Adyen, naturally accelerating our existing product roadmap. A fully integrated, in-house solution is essential to enabling the direct data exchange that a reliable product experience demands in such a rapidly changing digital environment. Moving forward, our focus remains entirely on execution, integrating these capabilities into a single platform to deliver real, tangible value for our merchants.
