Adyen and Outpayce by Amadeus expand partnership
This long-standing relationship is entering a new phase to modernize payments for airlines, hotels, and travel sellers.
Adyen and Outpayce by Amadeus have partnered in travel payments since 2012. This long-standing relationship is entering a new phase by deepening the collaboration and transforming the travel sector's financial infrastructure.
This collaboration reflects a mutual vision: to embed acquiring, multiple payment methods, value-added services, issuing, and embedded finance directly into the travel experience.
Global reach, local expertise
The expanded partnership with Outpayce is focused on giving travel sellers across North America and EMEA comprehensive end-to-end acquiring and issuing capabilities.
By integrating Adyen’s global financial technology platform with Outpayce’s expertise in the travel sector, the collaboration is simplifying funds management for travel players and facilitating seamless experiences for their customers. The partnership introduces new payment capabilities across the travel ecosystem, from issuing solutions for travel sellers to enhanced payment acceptance and integrations for airlines and hotels, all aimed at delivering a more seamless experience for travellers.
Key elements of these new capabilities are delivered through Adyen Uplift, which optimises for conversion by automating tokenisation, fraud protection, authentication, optimisation of payment routing, and personalisation of the checkout experience. The combined impact of these modules helps merchants boost conversions, lower operational costs, and enhance the protection of customer data and transactions.
Powering the skies and stays
The impact of these product developments is already taking off across the globe:
B2B wallet. For brands seeking efficient cash-flow management and timely supplier payments, the ability to quickly move funds between pay-ins and payouts is invaluable. B2B Wallet for travel sellers by Amadeus, powered by Adyen, provides this crucial functionality.
Airlines: Amadeus and Adyen are enabling 22 carriers to accept payments. This collaboration expands payment options to include digital wallets and a wide variety of local payment methods. This proposition is attracting significant interest from additional airlines, particularly in the UAE and US, where it offers an alternative to the dominance of legacy providers.
Hotels: The migration of thousands of hotels to a new, joint integration will streamline online payment processing. The adoption of this new system is accelerating after successful implementations in regions like Mexico and the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), demonstrated a significant need for modernised hospitality payments.
Innovation at the core
This partnership will foster new collaborative approaches in both product development and go-to-market strategies. This ranges from seamless onboarding, KYC, and adoption of payment methods, issuing, and value-added services, to optimising costs and improving authorisation rates across the entire payment value chain.
"The combined value of Adyen’s financial technology with Outpayce’s expansive travel network is a powerful catalyst for disruption in an industry held back by disconnected processes. We’re moving beyond just acquiring to deliver the infrastructure that streamlines traveler pay-ins and supplier payouts all on one platform."

The road to 2026 and beyond
The future of this collaboration is designed for mutual growth. In the coming years, Adyen and Outpayce will focus on three key areas:
Joint product innovation. The partners are exploring co-creation opportunities to address specific payment challenges in the travel sector. This could include simplifying reconciliation, facilitating customer donations, and enabling travel brands to accept payments in India.
Strategic go-to-market alignment. There will be close coordination on joint accounts, leveraging our worldwide reach and enterprise focus. This aligned approach aims to enhance the customer experience for leading travel brands.
Unified industry presence. By joining forces at major industry events, the partners aim to shape the narrative for the future of travel technology together.
By streamlining and improving the payment value chain, travel businesses will be able to dedicate their energy to their core mission: creating unforgettable experiences for travelers.
