Magento has officially announced that all versions of Magento 1 will not receive new quality fixes or security patches as of June 30 2020. We’ve been actively informing our merchants of this end of life (EOL) of Magento 1 over the past months.
We’re here to help our merchants grow, and to clear obstacles that may impede that growth. But we’re also here to keep our merchants safe, and a platform EOL can result in an increased risk of data breaches and non-compliance with PCI DSS. Third parties, such as Visa, have expressed concerns regarding Magento 1 EOL and stress that urgent action is required. They request acquirers, such as Adyen, to encourage their merchants to migrate to a vendor-supported version or an alternate platform. With respect to PCI DSS compliance, Visa emphasizes that failing to migrate off a Magento 1 ecommerce website by June 2020 will cause merchants to fall out of PCI DSS compliance. Therefore, we urge merchants to move off Magento 1 before 30 June, 2020.
Adyen works with multiple different partners that our merchants can choose to integrate with. If our merchants need any help finding the best partner for their business, we are here to help.
