Singapore, 5 March 2020 - Adyen, the payments platform of choice for many of the world’s leading companies, today announced a partnership with Mexican restaurant chain Guzman y Gomez (GYG) in Singapore. A leader in offering payment solutions for the quick service restaurant (QSR) space, Adyen has been selected by GYG to provide a simpler, faster and more customer-centric in-restaurant payment experience.
In the highly competitive fast-casual food industry, the slightest delays in customer transactions could impact sales and consequently revenue. With 10 outlets in Singapore located in prime locations such as CBD, Orchard Road and Novena where high customer volumes are a norm, speed is even more of a priority for both restaurants and customers. GYG needed a partner that understood their business and could improve operational efficiencies by addressing the pain points of payment processing.
Adyen’s solution seamlessly integrated systems from point-of-sale provider Revel, right through to accelerated authorizations and automated back-end reconciliations. Since the implementation, GYG has seen a significant improvement in operational efficiencies with markedly reduced transaction times of at least 30 percent, and consequently a boost to their bottom lines.

Customers tend to only wait for about five minutes to pay before they start looking for alternatives. To this end, Adyen has provided us with the means to increase the speed we serve customers through streamlined payments, with each order now completed at least 30 seconds quicker, thus overcoming a roadblock in the order-taking process,” said Josh Bell, Principal, GYG Singapore.

They truly listened to our issues, understood our pain points, and focused on solutions that would work for us. The implementation process was painless. We expected that it would take weeks, but we had our first restaurant up and running in a matter of hours, with no disruption to our business. We launched a trial run with Adyen at our Funan Mall outlet, and the results were perfect with a real jump in operational efficiency. The improvements in the staff and customer experience in subsequent outlets where the solution was implemented have also been consistent, with positive customer feedback and increased revenue,” Josh added.
